Checklist for selling crypto for Ghana cedis

  1. Step 1

    Prepare your payout destination

Save and verify the Mobile Money or bank account that should receive the GHS payout. Check the provider, account name, and masked details before creating the sale.

  2. Step 2

Choose the exact asset and amount

Open Sell, select the cryptocurrency you intend to send, and enter the amount. Do not substitute a similarly named asset or wrapped version.

  3. Step 3

Review the funding source and GHS amount

Choose your available ebitpoint balance or an external wallet when offered. Compare the crypto amount, payout destination and fees. An external deposit's GHS preview is an estimate; its final payout is calculated when the deposit confirms after processing fees.

  4. Step 4

Confirm the sale before funding it

A wallet-funded confirmation reserves the balance for the order without a separate transfer. For external funding, create the order and wait for its current deposit address, network, minimum and window before sending.

  5. Step 5

    Keep the right funding record

For an external deposit, match the network, compare the pasted address, ensure the delivered amount meets the minimum and retain the transaction hash. For a wallet-funded sale, retain the order reference; no deposit transaction hash is needed for that sale.

  6. Step 6

    Follow confirmation and payout

Track the order through deposit confirmation and payout processing. Processing is not a promise of an exact completion time.

Confirm the asset before you start

A sell order begins with the asset you are sending or converting. Check that you selected the right cryptocurrency and, where applicable, the right network. Assets with similar names can have different wallet formats and transfer requirements.

Do not use an address or network suggested in an unsolicited message. Open your account directly, begin from the Sell flow, and use the details shown there.

Read the payout amount, not just the headline rate

Review the funding source, asset amount, GHS figure and payout destination together. A sale from your available ebitpoint balance reserves that balance when confirmed and needs no external transfer or blockchain network fee for the sale.

An external-wallet sale shows an estimate before depositing. Its GHS-per-USD rate is locked at order creation. Its final payout uses the coin's USD value at confirmation and the crypto left after the provider/network processing fee. Check the sending wallet's charge separately and make sure the amount arriving meets the order's displayed minimum. Do not send again after detection while you wait for confirmations.

Treat payout changes carefully

If you need to change an account or payout detail, do it from your signed-in account and check the change before placing the order. Be especially cautious if someone asks you to change a destination through chat, social media, or an unexpected call.

Keep your email account secure as well. It is often the first place you will see security notices or order updates.

Follow the status from your account

Once you submit an order, use your transaction history to see its current status. Save the reference and contact Support through the account if you need assistance. That keeps the conversation tied to the right order without exposing sensitive details in public messages.

Common questions about selling crypto for GHS

Can I sell crypto to Mobile Money in Ghana?

Select a saved Mobile Money destination when it is available in the current Sell flow. Confirm the provider, masked account details, and final GHS amount before creating the order.

Should I send crypto before creating the sale?

No. For external funding, create the order first and use its displayed address and network. If you choose your ebitpoint balance, confirmation reserves that balance and you should not send a separate deposit for the order.

Why is the GHS payout different from a price I saw earlier?

A headline price does not show the final transaction. A wallet-funded sale is calculated when the balance is reserved. An external deposit locks its GHS-per-USD rate at order creation, then uses the coin's USD value and net deposit at confirmation to calculate the payout after processing fees. Its earlier GHS preview is an estimate.

What records should I keep after selling?

Keep the order reference, payout record and, for external funding, the blockchain transaction hash. Use signed-in Support if they do not align, without sharing passwords or wallet secrets.
