About these terms
These terms of use apply when you visit ebitpoint.com, create an ebitpoint account, or use any ebitpoint service. You accept them when you tick the agreement box on the registration form, together with the Customer policies, the Privacy notice and the Rewards programme terms.
Some topics have their own policy, and these terms link to them rather than repeat them. When a screen shows details for one action, such as a quote, a deadline or a fee line, those details also apply to that action.

Who can use ebitpoint
- Our services are for customers who live in Ghana or Nigeria. You choose one of these as your country when you register.
- You register with your legal first and last name as they appear on your ID, a working email address, and a mobile number. Disposable email addresses are not accepted.
- Your account is created only after you confirm your mobile number with an SMS code. A number already confirmed on another account cannot be used to open a new one.
- Each person may hold one ebitpoint account. Your account is for your own use, and you must not let anyone else use it.
- You must not buy or sell for another person, a business or any other third party without the appropriate authority and without telling us first.
What ebitpoint offers in Ghana and Nigeria
What you can do depends on the country on your account. Features can also depend on your verification status, the supported assets and networks, and whether a feature is available at the time.

We may change, improve, pause or retire features as the product evolves.
Your account and its security
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for activity carried out through your account.
- Use a strong, unique password, and secure the email account connected to ebitpoint.
- Turn on two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app or a passkey. It is available to every customer, and it is required before you can send crypto out of ebitpoint.
- Do not share your password, one-time codes, recovery codes or private keys with anyone. ebitpoint staff will never ask for them.
- You can see and sign out your active sessions from Settings.
- Tell Support straight away if you think someone has used your account without permission.
After a security change, such as a password reset or a new phone number, sending crypto is paused for a time. The AML policy lists each pause.
Identity verification and limits
To verify your identity, you upload a clear photo of a valid government-issued ID and a selfie of you holding the same ID, through the signed-in verification form, and complete a short live camera check where it is offered. Every submission is checked before it is approved or declined, and some of those checks are automatic, as the Privacy notice explains. You can submit again if one is rejected. The identity verification guide explains the form.
- Verification is required to send crypto from your ebitpoint balance to an external wallet, and to trade on the P2P marketplace.
- From the changeover date we announce in the app and by email, verification is also required to sell, swap or use OTC.
- Accounts are either unverified (Starter) or verified, and verification raises your limits. Limits are measured in US dollar value, are set by ebitpoint, and may change.
- If an amount is above your limit, it is refused with a message telling you which limit applies.
- We may ask for more information at any time, for example about the source of funds, the purpose of a transaction, or who controls an account.
The current limits for each tier are in the AML policy.
Prices, quotes and fees
- Rates help you review an action before you go ahead. Rates move, so the rate, amount and details shown when you confirm are the ones that apply.
- ebitpoint does not add a separate fee to Buy or Sell orders. Our margin is included in the published rate, which you see before you confirm.
- A wallet withdrawal reserves the amount you send plus the current network fee, shown on its own line before you confirm.
- When you send crypto to ebitpoint, including for a Sell order, a processing fee and the blockchain network fee are deducted before the deposit is credited. These fees go to third parties and are not refundable.
- ebitpoint does not add a fee to P2P orders. Your Mobile Money provider or bank may charge its own transfer fee.
Buy and Sell orders
Buying (Ghana accounts)
- When you review a Buy order, we lock the cedi amount and the crypto amount for 10 minutes and show the ebitpoint Mobile Money or bank account to pay.
- Pay the exact amount from your own account, enter the transaction reference from your provider, and submit the order before the quote expires. We must confirm your payment arrived within 30 minutes of when you submit the order.
- A payment reference can only be attached to one Buy order for the same ebitpoint payment account, unless that order was cancelled.
- ebitpoint does not take card payments for Buy orders.
Selling (Ghana and Nigeria accounts)
- When you sell from an external wallet, each order has a 30-minute deposit window. Your payout is based on the amount that arrives, so it can differ from the estimate you saw.
- When you sell from your ebitpoint balance, the crypto is reserved straight away and the order cannot be cancelled.
- Your payout goes to the account you chose for that order. Nigerian accounts are paid to a bank account only.
When an order can be cancelled, what happens to money already paid, and what is final are set out in the Refund policy.
Wallets, deposits and sends
- Deposits are credited after the required blockchain confirmations. Each asset has a minimum deposit, shown on the Receive crypto page.
- Crypto sent on an unsupported network, or an asset the address does not support, is not credited and may be permanently lost.
- Every Send from your ebitpoint balance needs a verified account and two-factor confirmation, and is checked before it is sent. The amount is reserved from your balance first.
- The first time you send to an address you have not sent to before, we email you a single-use confirmation link. The Send waits until you confirm it.
- Once a Send is on the blockchain it cannot be cancelled, reversed or refunded. If it went to the wrong address, only the owner of that address can return it.
- Wallet addresses and transactions on a public blockchain can be seen by anyone.
The P2P marketplace
Where the P2P marketplace is available, verified customers can buy and sell crypto directly with each other. Orders are priced in cedis and paid by Mobile Money or bank transfer in Ghana. ebitpoint holds the seller's crypto in escrow and settles disputes. Cedis move directly between the two customers by Mobile Money or bank transfer, and ebitpoint never holds them.
- Crypto for a P2P sale comes from your Funding wallet and locks in escrow when an order opens. The seller cannot move it while it is in escrow.
- Some ads review each request first. The advertiser has 30 minutes to accept, and nothing locks in escrow until they do.
- The buyer has 60 minutes from when the crypto locks to pay and mark the order paid, plus 15 minutes of grace. After that the order closes and the crypto returns to the seller.
- The buyer must pay only the payment details shown on the order, and must upload proof of payment to mark the order paid.
- Only the buyer can cancel, and only before marking the order paid. If you have already sent the money, do not cancel.
- Once the order is marked paid, either side can tap Appeal to open a dispute. The escrow stays locked while ebitpoint reviews the timeline, the chat and any evidence. A dispute ends with the crypto either released to the buyer or returned to the seller.
- Never pay, or release crypto, outside ebitpoint, and never release crypto on the strength of a screenshot or SMS alone. Check your own account.
- Your per-order limit applies to P2P trades, and your trading history earns merchant badges that nobody can buy or choose.
Rewards, referrals and coupons
Reward points and referrals follow the Rewards programme terms, which set how points are earned, held, redeemed and refused. Coupons have no cash value, and a redeemed coupon cannot be reversed or reissued.
What you must not do
When you use ebitpoint, you must not:
- Deposit, move or cash out money or crypto that comes from crime, or finance terrorism or anyone subject to sanctions.
- Commit or help with fraud, scams or fake payment references.
- Open or run more than one account, or use another person's identity or documents.
- Split transactions to avoid limits or checks.
- Try to get around account safeguards, interfere with the service, or harm other customers.
- Copy, scrape or clone our content, or use the ebitpoint name and logo without permission, as the Copyright policy explains.
When we may pause, limit or close an account
To meet our obligations and protect customers, ebitpoint may:
- Refuse to open an account or to carry out a transaction.
- Ask for identification, supporting documents or an explanation of a transaction before continuing.
- Delay, pause or cancel an order or withdrawal while we review it.
- Restrict an account. A restriction can apply to signing in, buying, selling and swapping, withdrawals, or profile changes, and you are notified when one is applied or removed.
- Restrict or close an account, and hold funds where the law requires or allows it.
- Correct your balance if an amount is credited to your account in error, for example through a duplicate credit or a system fault.
- Share information with competent authorities when the law requires it.
Some safeguards run automatically, such as limits, waiting periods for new withdrawal addresses, and rate limits. If one stops an action and you think it is wrong, contact Support and we will review it.
Closing your account
- You can ask to delete your account from Settings. The request is processed after 30 days, and you can cancel it before then.
- An account cannot be closed while it holds any balance, including crypto in Funding, or has an order, OTC request or withdrawal in progress, or a deposit we have not credited yet. Settle these first.
- Closing an account retires its deposit addresses, so do not send crypto to them afterwards.
- We keep your identity verification and transaction records after closure, as the GDPR notice explains.
Our content and yours
The ebitpoint website, app, guides, design and software belong to EBITPOINT LTD or its licensors. You keep ownership of reviews and messages you send us, and give us permission to use them to run the service. The Copyright policy has the detail, and the DMCA policy explains how to report a copyright problem.
Mobile Money, banks and blockchains
Payments and payouts move through Mobile Money providers and banks, and crypto moves on public blockchains. Those services have their own rules, fees and timings. Once a transfer is confirmed on a blockchain, neither ebitpoint nor anyone else can pull it back.
Support and complaints
For a question about your own account or a transaction, sign in and use Support, so it reaches us with your account history. If you cannot sign in, use the form on the Contact page. You can also call 030 224 7719, Monday to Saturday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, or email info@ebitpoint.com.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as our services and requirements change. The current version and its update date are always shown on this page. Orders already in progress follow the terms shown when you confirmed them, unless we have to close an order for security reasons or because a network is no longer supported.
